ROLE: Creative director

My friend Ali started Find Your Anchor. It’s a grassroots movement aimed at suicide prevention, awareness and education, and it feels like it comes from the heart of a real human being. A survivor herself, Ali knew there had to be a better way to help folks in despair feel loved than clinical pamphlets in therapists’ offices. And I knew I had to ask my boss for the pro-bono agency hours to help in any way we could. To expand the reach of her lifesaving little blue boxes.

 

Our first must was creating a cornerstone video that explained the mission and functionality of the Find Your Anchor box to grab more investors and eyes, so more boxes could be assembled and distributed.

 

Find Your Anchor boxes have made their way to almost every country, and their unique ability to save lives started to get noticed. So much so that Lady Gaga’s foundation, Born This Way, reached out to co-create an anti-suicide pledge campaign. And the video my team created made its way to news segments across the nation. ⬇️

 
 

One of our humble billboards even made it to Times Square!

GIPHY reached out to offer Ali a brand page. She asked my team to handle its creative. Staying away from phrases that felt like handles, we looked for simple words that ask in an everyday way, are you struggling?

In its first month, the page hit over 120 million GIF views.
